Secondo Matvienko, la soluzione si trova solo nel piano del dialogo nazionale ucraino, del compromesso e dialogo delle autorità con i cittadini. Edward Snowden ha spiegato il motivo per cui giovedì durante la “Linea diretta” ha fatto la domanda al Presidente Vladimir Putin per riaprire la discussione sul problema della sorveglianza da parte dei servizi segreti. Ha scritto l'ex dipendente della CIA sul quotidiano britannico The Guardian. Secondo Snowden, la sua domanda mira a far proseguire la discussione del problema della raccolta dei metadati di milioni di americani da parte dei servizi segreti degli Stati Uniti. Il figlio di Yanukovich è ricercato. Il Servizio di sicurezza dell'Ucraina ha dichiarato ricercato Aleksandr Yanukovich, il figlio maggiore di Viktor Yanukovich, destituito dal potere da parte della Verkhovna Rada, comunica il sito web del Ministero dell'Interno.
Aleksandr è sospettato di contraffazione e falsificazione di documenti, nonché l'elaborazione e il rilascio di documenti falsi con gravi conseguenze.

Pushkov: la PACE si è collocata ai margini della politica europea. Dopo aver privato la Russia del mandato, l'Assemblea parlamentare del Consiglio d'Europa (PACE) si reca ai margini della politica europea, perché la risoluzione della crisi in Ucraina è impossibile senza la partecipazione di Mosca, ha dichiarato venerdì il capo del Comitato della Duma di Stato per gli Affari Esteri Aleksej Pushkov. Il 10 aprile la PACE ha escluso fino alla fine del 2014 la Russia dagli organi governativi dell'organizzazione in relazione all'adesione della Crimea. La delegazione russa in segno di protesta ha abbandonato la sala della riunione. Wolfgang Kubicki ritiene errate le azioni della NATO. Le azioni della NATO nella situazione della crisi in Ucraina sono errate, ha dichiarato oggi nell'intervista ai giornalisti tedeschi il vice presidente del Partito Liberale Democratico (FDP) Wolfgang Kubicki.
Egli ritiene "estremamente pericoloso e controproducente il fatto che la NATO stia trasferendo le sue forze verso i cosiddetti confini orientali e che vi partecipa anche la Bundeswehr." Kubicki ha anche esortato ad attivare il dialogo con la Russia. "Un elevato livello di sostegno della politica del Presidente Vladimir Putin da parte dei cittadini russi dovrebbe farci riflettere", ha sottolineato il politico tedesco.

I filorussi delle regioni orientali bocciano il documento siglato da Russia, Ue, Usa ed Ucraina, che prevede il disarrmo delle milizie, la restituzione degli edifici occupati, l'amnistia e l'impegno ad una riforma costituzionale: "Non lasceremo gli edifici pubblici se non si dimette il governo illegale di Kiev e deporremo le armi con il referendum sullo status di Donetsk e Lugansk". Kiev replica: "Le operazioni militari proseguono".
KIEV, 18 APRILE. L'esercito ucraino ha eliminato un posto di blocco creato dagli insorti filorussi nei pressi del villaggio di Serghiivka, a 17 chilometri da Kramatorsk, nell'Ucraina orientale. Lo fanno sapere i media locali precisando che "diversi sostenitori della 'Repubblica popolare di Donetsk' sono rimasti feriti" nello scontro a fuoco, scoppiato ieri notte, e che, l'obiettivo dei militari di Kiev, paracadutisti, è probabilmente quello di liberare la strada per la città di Sloviansk.

(di Remigio Benni) [[ ( per me questa è una buona idea, perché, il vero monte Sinai è nel deserto della Madiana, in Arabia SAUDITA! ) ]] IL CAIRO, 18 APRile - Demolire il più' antico monastero del mondo, quello di Santa Caterina, costruito 15 secoli fa dall'imperatore Giustiniano nel cuore del Sinai meridionale, e dal 2000 patrimonio dell'Unesco. E' la richiesta, destinata a sollevare proteste e scalpore non solo tra i fedeli cristiani, fatta da un generale in pensione dell'esercito egiziano, Ahmed Ragai Attiya, che denuncia la minaccia alla sicurezza nazionale dell'Egitto causata dalla presenza nel complesso di 25 ''stranieri'', ovvero, i monaci greci ortodossi che lo gestiscono. L'ex militare ha accusato i religiosi davanti al tribunale amministrativo di Ismailiya anche di aver rubato suoli circostanti, di nascondere che le fondamenta del monastero sorgono sul 'pozzo di Mose' (la sorgente che secondo la tradizione biblica disseto' gli ebrei in fuga dall'Egitto) e di aver costruito abusivamente celle monacali ed altri edifici che non esistevano nel complesso fatto edificare nel sesto secolo. Per accertare l'effettivo valore storico del monastero e la veridicità' dell'accusa riguardante il ''pozzo di Mose'' (uno dei profeti venerati nell'Islam) il tribunale ha nominato un gruppo di esperti, sospendendo per ora qualsiasi decisione sul ricorso.
La storiografia cristiana fa risalire le prime tracce del monastero a ben diciassette secoli fa, quando nel 328 circa, l'imperatrice Elena, madre di Costantino, aveva fatto costruire li' una cappella votiva, vicino al Roveto Ardente, dove Mose' - secondo la tradizione - parlo' con Dio. Il sito e' ai piedi del monte Horeb (Monte Sinai), sulla cima del quale il profeta ricevette le tavole dei Dieci Comandamenti. Nel luogo della cappella l'imperatore Giustiniano fece realizzare nel VI secolo il monastero, con alte mura di cinta, che comprende anche una ricchissima biblioteca, custode di centinaia di manoscritti antichi. Questi testi, oggi in via di digitalizzazione, comprendono anche papiri di grande valore, inclusa una copia della prima Bibbia, e rendono la biblioteca seconda per la cristianità' soltanto a quella vaticana. Crogiuolo di differenti culture religiose, il complesso contiene anche una moschea - mai aperta al culto perche' costruita con un orientamento sbagliato, non in direzione della Mecca - a testimoniare la convivenza pacifica di cristiani e musulmani, sancita in un manoscritto firmato dal profeta Maometto, conservato nella biblioteca. Tra le accuse rivolte ai monaci ortodossi - che nel 2000 ricevettero la visita di Giovanni Paolo II - e' anche quella di aver innalzato in circostanze particolari la bandiera greca. Gia' in febbraio l'ex generale aveva fatto le stesse denunce a giornalisti egiziani, al Cairo. In una contro-conferenza stampa il 30 marzo un monaco di Santa Caterina, un giurista ex parlamentare ed esponenti di alcune tribu' locali hanno respinto quelle accuse, sostenendo che Attiya mirerebbe a sollecitare l'ostilità' delle popolazioni dell'area I pellegrinaggi e le visite di comitive al monastero si sono ridotti da tempo, dopo aggressioni da parte di predoni che hanno rapinato e a volte sequestrato turisti, rilasciandoli sempre dopo poche ore. Ora pero' le visite sono finite in seguito ai continui scontri armati in corso da mesi tra polizia, esercito e gruppi armati che il governo accusa di terrorismo.
